Alice Reiter Feld, South Florida Elder Law and Estate Planning Attorney
Alice Reiter Feld has earned a reputation as one of Florida’s most devoted advocates for seniors and their families.
Ms. Reiter Feld has been in private practice for over 30 years. During that time, she’s proven to be a determined fighter for the rights of senior citizens and family members when it comes to elder care options, and on the importance of engaging an elder law attorney to plan and execute a personalized strategy. Her primary areas of practice under the “Elder Law Umbrella” include long-term care needs planning, asset protection planning, estate planning, probate, Veteran’s Benefits, and Medicaid planning and assistance.
Alice Reiter Feld is licensed to practice law in both Florida and New York, as well as before the United States Court of Appeals for Veteran’s Claims. She’s a Board Certified Elder Law Specialist by The Florida Bar and The National Elder Law Foundation. And she’s “AV” rated (the highest rating) by Martindale Hubbell.
To Alice Reiter Feld, serving the senior community and their families is a true labor of love. She offers FREE Seminars and Teleconferences to educate the community on everything from their personal rights to new state laws affecting the elderly. She writes newsletters and bulletins packed with valuable information for her clients and their families, as well as peers, elder care professionals, and the senior community-at-large. In addition, with offices in West Broward, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, and Delray Beach, she’s uniquely-positioned to serve both Broward and Palm Beach counties.
In addition to helping her preserve their assets and their legacies to their families, Alice Reiter Feld also has a distinguished record of service to her community. She served six years as the Mayor and Commissioner for the City of Lauderhill. The Chapel of Four Chaplains has honored her with the prestigious Legion of Honor Award. And she’s been honored, as well, by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
She’s past-Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Broward County Bar Association; past-President of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys; past-President of the Broward County Women Lawyers Association; former board member for the Aging Alliance in Broward County; former board member of the Elder Services Recourse Network; and a former member of the Parkinson’s Disease Board of Directors.
Ms. Reiter Feld was recently honored as a “Florida Super Lawyer” by “Law and Politics” magazine. She’s a member of the Florida Bar’s Speaker Bureau (and often lectures groups of other elder law attorneys). She’s spoken on Estate Planning and Elder Law issues to, amongst many others, the Nova Southeastern University School of Law, SunTrust’s Deans Business Roundtable, and elder care professionals at Hospice-by-the-Sea. And she’s published numerous articles.
She’s a volunteer attorney for Broward Lawyer’s Care; a member of the Elder Law section of the Florida Bar; and a former board member for the Alzheimer’s Family Center in Broward County. And she’s a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (where she’s served on the Steering Committee of the Trust Special Interest Group); the Veterans Advocates Group of America (VAGA); and the Academy of Special Needs Planners (ASNP).
After earning her bachelors degree in political science from Brooklyn College – and graduating with honors – Ms. Reiter Feld went on to earn a juris doctorate from the venerable St. John’s University School of Law in 1980.
Alice Reiter Feld is married to Rabbi Mitch Feld. Their family includes son Daniel, who has a Master’s Degree in International Affairs, and is pursuing his juris doctorate from Suffolk University School of Law in Boston; Ms. Feld’s parents, aged 89 and 88; and Emily, her 10-year old bichon-frise who also serves the community – as the official office greeter and mascot.
